In this book, the main character named Flora was keeping a secret passion: she was fascinated by seeds. I chose to put real seeds in my illustrations. First, I did the drawings on MDF wood boards that looked just like wood. Some pages, I drew on white paper. Then I painted with acrylic paint and glued seeds: beans, corn, oats, wheat, sesame, flaxseed, peas and various other tree seeds.
Illustrations from this book were selected to the 7th Exposition and Catalogue “Traçando Histórias (Creating Stories)”, Children’s Literature Illustration Exhibition, during the Book fair in Porto Alegre – Rio Grande do Sul in 2010.
The book was published in Spanish by the same publisher in 2011.
